Artist Statement

From behavior to biological makeup, we are intrinsically linked to the world around us. As our world grows increasingly reliant on finding sustainable solutions for the future, it is imperative that we first make an effort to truly understand our relationship with our environment. Seeing nature as our mentor, we have the incredible opportunity to learn from the environment to enhance our human experience. Whether incorporating nature's wisdom tangibly in design or on a more philosophical level in the awareness of our universal oneness, we have the opportunity to thrive through the understanding of natural processes and systems.

As a Holistic Artist and Designer, I use nature as my mentor, identifying the sophistication and beauty of our environment and translating that into hand drawn and digital motifs. Drawing becomes a meditative practice of mindfulness which is expressed through the creation of flora, fauna, and abstract shape and line work.

Bio

Hi, my name is Erin. :)

I'm a Holistic artist and textile designer currently residing in New Jersey.

Born in northwest New Jersey, I grew an appreciation and curiosity of the world around me, always wanting to learn and see more of the natural world. I studied Environmental Science and Sustainability at Stockton University (Galloway, NJ) before pursuing my B.F.A in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design (Savannah, GA). I am passionate about sustainability, but have the mind of an artist; creative, fun, and free-spirited. If you see me around, I'm usually laughing at something! A natural collaborator and communicator, I'm most excited to work collaboratively with others in the design community to continually evolve as a mindful, engaged, and sustainable designer.
